Taking part to Amiganoid 2011 event so here is something what was new to me.
AROS: I saw it live first time in my life. The desktop theme could have more unique touch than its current theme is. AROS desktop Wanderer is feature complete if compared to Workbench and AROS preferences system is inconsistent. Everything from OS3 is there but that is all. I managed to crash poor fellow's AROS with Poseidon prefs. Gallium3D is there and it looks ok. Not sure how it compares to MorphOS 3D system speedwise and in features.
Anyway in general it looks like UI in AROS could get some overhaul. There are plenty of applications to use.
OS4 was presented in the show by beta testers. It was also my first time to use OS4. Few remarks from MorphOS user/developer point of view...
* when resizing window contents there is noticeable lag with updating window contents
* tried RA-OWB on Pegasos G3 (?). Scrolling was slow and sometimes OWB didnt complete page loadings and I had to click link again (too bad I didnt try OWB-MUI for comparison...).
* USB memory sticks crash on some machines while work on other
* Preferences system is quite messy like in AROS and UI layout is not aligned nor well thought...
At overall it looks like OS3.
MorphOS.... stay tuned

But for the first time I was able to meet other MorphOS users and developers. Thanks to all participated
