« on: August 20, 2011, 12:30:12 PM »
Hi,

Can someone tell me if the Acer Aspire One ZG5 is any good for AROS?

Someone is selling one for around £90 in like new condition.

Is that a good deal?

This one went just shy of £100.

I've actually got an Acer 110L with integrated 3G and 1.5GB (hardware mod). The CPU is about the speed of a Celeron 800mhz and can run WinUAE (under Wine) but the sound can sometimes lag a bit - I don't know if that helps?

Yes, it's one of the best supported machines for AROS. See http://www.arosaspire.org/

I think therein lies the problem (my Wine setup for Ubuntu 11.10). The best UAE port imho is WinUAE, E-UAE and others just don't have the functionality so I don't want to go native. Good to know that it's netbook is actually fast enough though, I'll try the latest and greatest and see if I get anywhere. The game Leander is what I use to test.
