Real Amiga 1200 Hard Drive Questions
« on: August 06, 2011, 11:12:17 AM »
Hello

I brought a pre-installed HD from ebay, with 3 extra partitions on it Games (whdload games), Demos & Documents. For reasons best left alone I had to reinstall the OS and since then I can only see the Games partition, the other 2 are still there I just can't access them! I think there must have been something else installed to allow for large hard drives, can anyone tell me what that would be?

Also I tried to back this HD up using a IDE to USB 2.5 caddie but none of my computers can actually access it at all. Both Windows 7 and Mac OS want to initialise it, which I don't want to do. Linux can see it, can show me there is data on it, but will not let me access it. And finally I can't select it in Winuae as it doesn't show up in the list of connected hard drives. What the hell am I doing wrong?

Can be:
- patched scsi.device
- SFS filesystem
- PFS3 filesystem

How many GB are we talking here ?
B.t.w. I think it's SFS, which is mostly used when going over the 4GB mark.
Wishlist: A3500, A2500UX

Its 6gb. I think its SFS also after hunting around some old emails. Is there anyway to reinstate the format without losing all the data?
