I used a CompServ Arxxon scandoubler successfully with various TFT monitors.

Check out your monitor controls, modify the clock and sync and you'll get rid of the vertical lines.

PS: If your monitor doesn't show anything put your A4000 jumper in NTSC mode and it will work

edit: um! of course, if you have interference in the screen you should check your miggy shielding and also use a proper vga cable (although most monitor cables included by the manofacturer are usually OK)

hi

I have a amiga 4000 with a comp scandoubler which is fine when connected upto my 19" crt monitor but when its connected to a 19" lcd monitor it shows lines running down the screen why? Also whats the best way of connecting up speakers?.

Are you running in PAL or NTSC-mode? When in PAL, your scandoubler might output 50hz and this refresh rate is commonly not accepted via the VGA port. NTSC (60hz) should however work fine.
Some LCD might accept 50hz although it is out of the specs and might show the symptoms you describe.
Either get a new scandoubler or get a converter that transcodes the VGA signal to HDMI or Component.

How well does http://cgi.ebay.com/15Khz-RGB-CGA-Component-Video-VGA-Converter-Scaler-/120457605985?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c0bd53361 work with an A1200?

I need an external as the Indivision can't be used while FASTATA is installed.

You'll have to hope first that someone has actually bought one of these and tried it on an A1200 first as it's not an Amiga Specific bit of kit... :(
