I used  GEOS for the C-64. I have it somewhere in my closet. Have you tried e-bay? Find a 1541-II diskdrive and you get the Geos 2.0 disk with it.

Well Maurice Randall at Click Here Software bought out the rights to the C= version of Geos from CMD and he made what is essentially Geos 3.0, in what is called Wheels.

Unfortunately I would have to recomend not trying to purchase anything from Maurice right now.. He was always a stand up member of the 8bit C= community, but there is a preorder problem right now with him have taken money and not delivering products.. Not responding to emails any longer either...

Your best bet would be eBay.

I did, but I didnt like it... even though it was my fault.. I screwed up my GEOS software all the time.. They recommended I make a backup before I use it so I did..but the part I always forgot was you have to close(?) and exit out of the system and not just shut down or that will corrupt the files..
Looking back..I think it was because they used REL (random? files) and you cant just exit without closing the file like a sequential file..

Yeah..memories of homework.  I used GEOS 1.3 for homework in elementry school and then 2.0 in middle school.  It made me appreciate my A500 that much more.

I used it for word processing; a friend of mine wrote quite a lot using the GEOS word processor. I've forgotten the specifics a long time ago though.

Yup, GEOS, GEOS2, and lot of the addons. Used it on my 64 thru my first year of college. It beat using the Mac Classics in the labs. That and I could still admin the Amiga area of a local BBS at 1200bps.

I used GEOS 128 throughout high school.  It was great in 80 columns and 2 MHz.  I got a RAM expansion unit later but my C128 went bad (along with most of my disk drives) after that.  Now I don't use it anymore...  That's part of why I got an Amiga 1200 in '93.  ;-)

I always wanted GeoProgrammer...was that a IDE ASM package for GEOS that let you write apps for it (pull down menu's and all) ??

I used it with my 128 with added video RAM, 64K cart, pass-thru, and 3 1/4 disk drive.  Bliss.  Got Loadstar every month until the end.  The innovation was unbelievable.

Looking forward to better days ahead.
