More Mediator TV Tuner Questions
« on: May 04, 2011, 02:26:31 AM »
Hello All,
I forgot to mention in my last post that I live in Melbourne Australia. I am after a digital and FM Radio TV Tuner for my A4000T Mediator machine. Does the Elbox Mediator support Digital Tuner cards? And can I go out and buy any card or is there card you want me to stay well clear from. I would like to hear your feedback on this subject.

Thanks in advance,
Merv Stent

Mediator only supports bt878/848 based cards, which is an analog tuner. In short, don't get a digital tuner expecting it to work with mediator, there's currently no driver/program to use it.

yes vulture is right only TV tuners with conexant chips are supported
like flyvideo 98,pixelview play tv pro ect
digital TV uses MPEG video...there are not drivers or programs for the miggy
also the amiga lacks the cpu power to decompress tv-digital data

'course you could get a digital to analog TV converter box like they make for older TVs.  Kinda defeats the purpose though since you'd have to control everything from the box and not the Amiga...
