CD32 with SX-1
« on: April 08, 2011, 05:30:28 PM »
Hello...I'm trying to get an idea of what this equipment might be worth (if anything at all).

I've got 2 Amigia CD32's, an SX-1, and a few games.

If they are in working condition the CD32's tend to sell for around $40 - $100 depending on condition (Scratches and blemishes).  The SX-1 can sell it self for $120 - $200 if its fully working with 8MB of ram on it.  Games arn't worth as much considering how easy it is to get the TOSEC for it.

If your selling individually I may be insterested in the SX-1 as well possible another CD32 if its in well enought condition.  I would like to make one of my existings CD32's a tower project.  I just need to find how the CD rom on it works and if it can be ported to be used as a normald IDE/SCSI drive.

The CD-ROM in the CD32 is neither SCSI standard or even early IDE. It's like in the old old days when you bought a CD-ROM drive for PC and it came with a specific ISA interface card for the PC like for Sony or Mitsumi or Panasonic all being different.

For this reason case mods for the CD32 are a bit of a dead end, shame really it's the most compact AGA motherboard available.

Just thought I would mention that all your videos are sideways.  You need a 90 Deg turn Clockwise.  But I get the Just of it.  Just wish I knew if there was system ram with that SX-1.  If not I have extra around.
