CV64/3D Back again with a new problem.
« on: December 22, 2003, 01:34:30 PM »
After getting my CV64/3D to work last week I decided that I needed to rebuild the system once again so that it was clean. Bad move on my part. The problem I get is that when I launch the monitor file my Amiga just halts, no guru or error's. The monitor attached to the card does power up but there is nothing on the display.

To try and find a solution I've removed everything from my system and just installed the following :-

A1200
Zorro bus board (ELBOX)
Apollo1260/66 32Meg
EDIE Controller (Powr Flyer)
CV64/3D

Does anyone have any advise on this one. Apart from don't fix what's not broken.

Cheers

Hi maximo

ermm!! . . what do you mean with "to rebuild the system once again"?

Have you done a backup of the SYS: partition?

Ciao

Egads, man!!!  Why would you do this without a backup?  It's AmigaOS...  No registries or other junk to get garbled up...  Pretty much, once you get it working, it usually IS pretty stable and clean, if you were even slightly careful when swapping out files and such...

Anyhow, my guess to get it working again would be to check the monitor config files.   ie, make sure you have the right one for your monitor and that it is from the right version of CGx you are running, etc.

See now where would the fun be in having a backup. OK so yes I should have done one because I was still playing with my system and once I had a working system I should have kept a copy for that just in case moments.
