@Digiman, Yep Commodore had a promotion called 1000 + $1000 = 2000. In other words you would trade your keyboard from your A1000 plus One thousand cash would get you an A2000. I know because I did it. Still got my A1000 but no keyboard for it. Still got my A2000 also. I probably got a magazine around here somewhere that has the ad in it.

Thats interesting. That may explain why I have encountered so many A1000's missing the keyboard!
 
I never heard that, but I'm sure I've seen quite a few A1000's in the wild and on ebay with no keyboard.

Kind of makes you wonder what the dealers that offered the deal did with all the keyboards that got turned in. I hope they didn't go in the trash.
