cv64 was known causing dma problems due to it working outside of z3 specs to achieve more than expected throughput on bus. i thought it has been taken care of, but will not test it myself, since i have it in a mediator>voodoo rig, which is now causing another problem attempting to use simultanously voodoo and radeon alongside. so just to confirm a known issue as to how it looks like.

Well I seem to have gotten somewhere with it. It seems that when you click on "install" it just copies it all over without opening an installer. I was going to try and manually copy things over only to find it was already installed in L: !!  On another note, in future is it safe to presume that if a piece of SW has a L or Libs directory you can just manually copy the contents over to the WB partition folders of the same name if there is no installer?

Wawrzon,

I have obtained a Rev11 Buster chip that is still to be installed once I get the tool for the job so it will be interesting to see if that makes any difference.

So far I have had a USB drive and my camera woking on it. My phone on the other hand is not coming up. What this has made me notice is that when dealing with 4meg photos multiview is a tad slow (to say the least) or maybe it's the Amiga in general? Or a datatype issue?

Yep. And other directories where you know certain filetypes are supposed to go. Amiga is so complex, yet so simple that way :)

Thanks!

Going to mess around with the Deneb over the next week and then come back with any other queries I have :)

I haven't had much time to play around with the card but I did get the Rev 11 Buster installed and it still wont work in Z3 mode :( Zorro2 it is then.

I was thinking of getting an ethernet adapter for the card depending on how much cable costs per meter to get the A4000 internet access. What other things do people use with their Denebs other than flash drives etc?

I'm using mine for keyboard, mouse, audio, network, flash drives, hard drives, and multi-card reader.  I'm going to try a Zip 250 here soon, as well.

I'll have to go back through and read the entire thread, as I'm using a 4000D with Buster 9, and DMA mode is working great.  I had to install the Buster9 ROMtag.

Which makes me think (again, not having read the thread,) if you leave the Buster9 ROMTag installed, the instructions say the board will not work properly with a Buster 11 installed.

How do you find out what version of the firmware is installed as maybe that's my issue?

I believe the flash util will tell you.  Otherwise, use a program like Scout, look at Expansions, and select the Deneb, look at the serial number.  Its hex representation includes something like $E3B, and the last two digits are the firmware.  OR something like that; it's in the docs for certain.  FYI, flashing my firmware to v9 and installing the Buster9RomTag made all the difference for me, with my v9 Buster.

Usually yes, but in the case of FAT95 that will give you german messages from FAT95.

You always should try with Zorro 3 PIO mode first before excluding the use of Zorro 3 completely. As other people already suggested, try the latest firmware first...
