We got a nice e-mail today about Amiga.org and thought it would be good to share. It always feels good to be appreciated. Nothing bad in the e-mail except for a implied dig at Amiga Inc. so not sure why they want their name withheld.
Hey DiscreetFX
I just sent you a donation and wanted to say thanks for keeping Amiga.org alive. When Wayne announced he was going to sell it in 2009 I was afraid it might fall into ownership limbo like the Amiga itself. It seemed at first that a group of Amiga.org members might buy it which might have turned into a case of too many cooks in the kitchen. But I never got to find out what that would be like because DiscreetFX Partners quickly bought it up. I was afraid at first because I did not know much about you guys. Well I should have never doubted you, here it is almost two years later and Amiga.org is alive and well and finally off Wayne’s servers. The site seems a lot faster now but that could just be my imagination. While I will miss Wayne I am happy with how smoothly the transfer of ownership went, nothing like the drama of the Amiga itself. Thanks again for keeping one of the oldest places on the internet for Amiga freaks up and available. Feel free to share this e-mail if you want but please don’t post my name.
Sincerely
