WTB: X-Surf
« on: February 15, 2011, 08:54:40 PM »
Hi there,

I am a "born again" Amiga user and recently got my hands on a 2000/060 system with Picasso-IV card.

Would love to add a network card to the system, preferably an X-Surf. Please let me know via PM if you have one for sale.

Thanks!

Welcome! X-surf is certainly a good card, but since you've such a nice framework going, this might be worth a look:

...it's almost double the price of an X-surf, but think of the possibilities   :)

I was looking for an X-Surf or an Ariadne too, but I gave up in the end and bought a Deneb on Fleabay for cheap at the weekend plus a £3 USB to 100Mb/s Ethernet dongle.

I was hoping to receive them both this morning but the postie only brought the USB dongle with him. :(

Yeah, DENEB sounds like a great card and I've considered it but I really only need Ethernet, and for just that it's seems a bit too pricey.

I'd consider a reasonably priced used one though if anybody happens to sell one.

Thanks.

You will be very lucky to see an X-Surf or Ariadne go for less than £75/$120.

A Deneb is only $150 brand new.
