Anyone playing Jetstrike?
« on: November 04, 2010, 02:58:20 AM »
I just got my copy of Jetstrike through from ebay and it's a fun game, but harder than it looked when I first watched it on youtube. Anyone got any tips?

Thanks,
Amiga 4000, Warp Engine 040/40MHz, CV643D with scan doubler module, Tocatta soundcard, Deneb, 72Meg fast ram, 18 gig scsi hard drive.

No tips as such. I HAVE to play this with a pad and not a joystick, though.

Once upon a time, I'd stay up until the early hours with a mate, smashing into every building we could. Rewind 15 or so years :)

Of course, we enjoyed the missions, too!

If you're playing it on an '040/40 then yes, it will be hard. :)

Try disabling caches and Fast RAM and you may get closer to original (A500) speed.

Incidentally, watch out for the CD32 version - more planes, more colours, and great music.

I should have said, it is the CD32 version I'm playing. I must just suck at and it need more practice. Been playing for less than an hour in total...but I expect results!

Will give it some more play time tonight.

In that case disable Fast RAM. It was made for an '020 with Chip RAM only....

It's worth sticking at. Great game!

Hello, I am playing jetstrike the cd32 version. But I am stuck on level 99. I've been looking for cheats to finnish this level because it seems it's not possible to continue.

You're suppose to guard the white van that comes when you've completed a mission, it's standing on the runway firing in the air. After you destroy all enemies on the map nothing happens. The white van continues to fire until it eventually destroys itself. You can fly around as much as you want but the mission never ends.

Wow... Jetstrike!  Talk about a fun game I totally forgot about.  I don't remember anything helpful about the missions, and I don't think I was ever patient enough to even make it to level 99, anyhow.

Yeah, I remember it playing WAY too fast with FastRAM and caches enabled.  Which is a shame, because it looked so smooth and the controls were so sharp.  But basically impossible, as the levels weren't skill balanced to be played at that speed!  :D

Yes, it's a cool game with all the helicopters, planes and all the realistic weapons. There's actually 150 missions so there's alot of fun left when you're stuck on mission 99.

Maybe it's like a puzzle, something clever you have to do to be able to finnish the mission. But I've destoyed every enemy and bombed the whole map basically (even nuked it). Flown around with helicopters looking for "clues".

Normally when you've completed a mission and land on the runway this white van drives up to your plane and then it's over, if you start up your engines and take off before it's standing next to you, you will have to land again. So with the van blown to pieces...??? Or is it possible to make it stop firing so it won't eventually destoy itself? It says in the mission briefing that the driver is out for lunch and you're suppose to protect it until he returns.
