Martyn Brown quits Team17 after 20 years
« on: February 05, 2011, 12:59:10 PM »

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-02-04-martyn-brown-quits-worms-dev-team17

After two decades at the helm of annelid annihilators Team17, Martyn Brown has left the Worms developer to work as an independent video game consultant, according to a post on his (private) Facebook page, as noted by Eurogamer. Brown co-founded Team17, which got its start developing games for the Amiga (before your time?).

"I had an amazing 20-year ride and whilst it's the end of a truly enjoyable period of my life, it equally signals the start of a really exciting new one," Brown posted before swinging away on a grappling hook, throwing a grenade, falling on that grenade and blowing himself up.

20 years is a long time to stay at any one company.

My mid life crisis shall be spent in Brazil where I will be on undesignated maneuvers.

2 pierced nipples? 2 18 year olds? or 2 Harleys?

Back in my day, we didn\'t have water. We only had Oxygen and Hydrogen, and we\'d just have to shove them together.

Yeah T17 did at least try to use the chipset unlike many others in the 90s.

I usually pull out Alien Breed as an example of a "classic" amiga game. Lots of speech, lots of stuff going on, two player mode, a killer tune on the title screen, and loading times werent even that bad.

Just awesome :)

also, team 17 don't seem to have been scared of 2 button joystick either, so thats a plus!
