I've been looking and thinking about several of the more recent posts like Amiga New Years resolutions and the like and it made me nostalgic.
This lead me to think about other things that I wouldn't known or gotten into if I had not entered the world of the Amiga.
International friends: Face it, I'm American and had little to no clue what was going on else where growing up. But owning an Amiga, which I had to convert for PAL and decipher English terms like "Football" or "Bloody" it opened a whole new world to me. I even had to communicate with people from other contries to order parts and software!!!
The thriil of the hunt: Again, as a youngster, Amiga was never really big in Maryland and I had to serch and hunt for what I needed. Ofcourse there were all the Computer shops in town that sold PCs and Macs, but they were only good for the odd SCSI Hard Drive. You know a hobby means something to you when you count up your alowence and figure out the exchange rate (without the internet) to figure out if you can pay for your next subscription to AF.
Anywho, Just thought I'd share. If you have any enlightening things you'd like to add, go for it!
