Unfortunately I haven't played Defender of the Crown that much, the closest thing I can think of that could have inspired me to try such things is when I used to play Samantha Fox strip poker on my C64, but back then I didn't have a diskdrive, and I don't think the tapedrive would have helped much as a substitute
