Wow, I checked your listing out. That's a fairly nice system. Why sell it (and why have such a low starting bid)?

I'm guessing because the seller knows that if you list what you'd like to get for your stuff on ePay, you'll never get it. Rather, you have to list it cheap and then the price will take off (and often exceed what you were thinking you'd get) due to people getting caught up in the excitement of the bid. Too bad soooooo many transactions flake out on there now-a-days. Probably won't happen in an auction like this, but on lots of other items it does. Buyers remorse they call it.

I always start my items low as well, and it's worked for me.  However, it always makes me snigger when I see the first few bids that get put in.  Currently this AmigaOne is going for £38, which means that someone probably put a maximum bid of like £35 on it.

...why?! Do they seriously expect it to go for such a low price? And, assuming that they're hoping it will, why not save the bid until the very end anyway?

Strange.

Anyway, that's a really nice system you have there.  I'd love to get my hands on that, but unfortunately I'm not in a position to do so at the moment.  I'm quietly saving for an X1000 which I hope to have done by the middle of next Summer, but I also have my eye on a SAM and I'm not sure which direction I'll go yet.  I expect the X1000 will be out by then so we'll see what it's like.  The X1000 interests me more than a SAM, but I'm not rich so it's a big decision.

Good luck with your auction, I hope you get a good price for it!

AH.

No, £102.00!

(Yeah, I had to bid just to make this post.)

edit: weird, eBay let me bid even though shipping is only to the UK, though local pickup is allowed.  Maybe they think I'll fly over!

Hi everyone, Reason for sale is that I never use the damn thing, and it's a shame to let it collect dust :-) I have tried to sell the system by other means recently, namely here, amigaworld classifieds and amibay, but with no success, so with that in mind I thought an auction would be a fine idea.

To Tone007 - Auction notes ask that international bidders please contact me before bidding so I can get you a quote for shipping :-)

Free Shipping or Collection is available for UK bidders only.

On the off-chance I do win, I think I'd be begging you to keep the case in the UK and just ship the boards. ;)

Hehe Slayer, nice try :-) It's actually the 4000 system that's broken, the Cyberstorm Mark 3 Scsi isn't working. I'll probably use some of the AmigaOne sale funds to send it off to Amiga Center in France.

@Vladbuy - Yeah, shipping from the UK to the US is expensive :-(
