I didn't know that they made a PAL version. Have you ever seen documentation that shows they did, or heard of someone that has a PAL version of the DCTV?
I think the DCTV was a magical piece of equipment that was never fully utilized and under marketed before Digital Creations moved on to other products. It is amazing what could be done with an 030 Amiga w/fast SCSI-2 controller and a large hdd with a DCTV connected to it. Or even a stock A500. I met the famous Amiga computer artist, Jim Sachs, at a small Amiga user group meeting in Riverside, CA, in 1993 when he was promoting Digital Creations newest paint program, Brilliance. He showed us a short animation that included a mixture of recorded video and genlocked animation overlaid together. It was very entertaining and inspiring to meet such a talented artist and hear him talk about the Amiga as an artist's tool and then explain the features and advantages of Brilliance. He showed his unfinished "Lagoon" picture that was later used as the cover artwork for the Brilliance box. It was a great evening with a genius Amiga artist. IIRC, he may have used the DCTV for digitizing part of his animation sequences or photographic stills in the animation.
(off to the BBoAH to see if they have the info about a PAL model)
Edit: Yes, you are right. BBoAH lists both versions, but you probably need to ask for a PAL model on sites that have primarily UK and EU members, like EAB, or AW.net.
