Picasso II+ vid port confusion
« on: October 28, 2010, 12:41:29 AM »
Can anyone clarify which vid port on this card is the output and which is the input? I had this working for years, and then I disassembled the machine to do a repair on the mobo, and now I can't get any vid from either port. This is in an A3000, so it's either left or right (looking at the back of the machine).

I read something about a resistor blowing under certain circumstances, and I *did* switch to a different monitor. Could that be it? If it's blown, are there instructions anywhere on how to fix it?

Durnit...

On PICASSO II:
Output to the monitor = connector near the screw (right if looking at the back of the machine).
Output to the AMIGA = connector at the left.

I suppose that the location of the video output connector of PicassoII & PicassoII+ is identical! Must be confirmed!

Thanks! I'm wondering if the resistor issue happens if you plug the cables in the other way, or if it's more to do with the type of monitor. Old monitor was a NEC multisync (I think?), "new" monitor is a IDEK/iyama (which works fine off the mobo video port on two different A3000s).

Thanks again

afaik, if resistor is blown, it IS fixed!
resistor supplies voltage to monitor, that is not needed. here is some info:

Better sorry than worry.
