Hi all. I'm a new user of Amiga.org. Not that I am in any way new to the Amiga, got my first A500 back in 1987, but I have only read these threads for years. I thought it was on high time to join the community myself.

I have quite a few Amigas, both A1200s A4000s and an A3000.
Anyway, the issue I want to discuss is refurbishing our bellowed A4000 motherboards. I have an A4000 motherboard with a broken chip ram holder. You all know those small plastic holders aren't built to last, unfortunately. The motherboard works if I press the chip-ram down while booting, but it is kind of an awkward way to be using it over time.
Now, has anyone out there a good solution to this? It's too bad if the motherboard stays unusable because of this small plastic thingy. Are there anyone doing professional refurbishment on these old motherboards for money? AmigaKit maybe? I have done a little soldering myself, like replacing the clock battery, but I haven't dared to touch the audio capicitators. I know my limits.

Wouldn't it be great if there were someone professional we could send our old motherboards too in order to replace old audio capacitators, fix broken ram holders, insert a coin-battery solution for the clock and generally putting the thing in top-working order?
