1084S or 1084

I agree here 100%... hands down the 1084S is the best all around RGB monitor I have ever owned.

I had a 1084, right now using a 20" sony PVM with the Amiga kit db23 to 15 pin VGA connected to db15 to RGB RCA cable. Composite out from the A600 prvoides composite sync to the PVM

It's a nice 20". The only caveat is it's NTSC it will display pal but you lose some of the display at the bottom.

got mine for $50 on ebay.

If you TV has a SCART connector use an Amiga 23->Scart cable and the difference will be noticeable.

If you want high quality on VGA monitors you should choose an Indivision ECS.

Anyway the rest of comments are right: 1084s rocks for PAL Amiga stuff and are fairly cheap :-)

Do you have any 1084s models with the original box?

1084S or 1084

Sorry.. Not as good as the Microvitec. Mine is still running fine since I bought it in 1994. I only use the 1084s on the A1500. Interestingly I put £50 down for a Commodore monitor in November 1993. It never arrived cus Commodore went bust obviously. So they sold me a Microvitec and I was so pleased. Crystal clear and supports all the screen resolutions for the A1200. I eventually did get a Commodore monitor second hand thinking I would use it for my beloved A1200, but no. The Microvitec still wins hands down. Multisync you see... you can tell from the click you get from the various screen modes.

Still working now. Been playing Sensi tonight and checking over the largest city I ever made with SimCity 2000.. Found my SimEarth Bible.

As ever a picture...

Plus my 17" Microvitec

Another one of my workstations... yet another Microvitec on the right. The DiamondTron is fed off the 4000 with the Picasso.

Finding multi-sync monitors that work with Amiga screen modes is damn near impossible here in the States. I'd love to have your Microvitec!  Closest I've come in a while is a CEI 1962 clone. Screen doesn't fill the entire area, but maybe I need to perform some adjustments inside the unit (damn them for not putting the controls where you can reach 'em!). Oh, and there's no speakers in that CEI.

Anywho, the 1084s by Daewoo is still an excellent choice for MOST screenmodes and gaming in general. Cheap and easier to find too. If you're looking for a hi-end solution, the Indivision ECS would be hard to beat, but if you're just into gaming, someone already mentioned the fellow in Australia that sells S-Video adapters.

BTW: all your stuff is so clean and white, nice! What are those identical boxes on top of your CD drive though? HD's or power supply backups or something?
