floppy drive problem

I had plugged the floppy cable wrong way, and the LED was lit. So, I reversed it and the drive reads the diskette, but the motor is *always* on ((
did I break it?

edit: it seems both drive and motherboard are fine, but I need to jumper it as DS1. the drive is JU-363, how to do it?

What have you got it connected up to? Is it for DF0 or other?
 
If it's for DF0 then you should be able to get it to work using the old 'floppy cable with the twisted cores and diode' trick.

oh, but this drive is Matsushita JU-363. also it looks like original Amiga floppy drive.

anyway, there is a df1:, too and its 5,25" drive.
so I set 5,25" as DS1.

now ju363 works excelent, motor stops and all. but 5,25" is not seen. I need to check the cable twist.
J301 is set.

I'd like to keep 3,5" as DS0 for obvious reasons.

both drives were in this old and rusty A2000 when i bought it (second hand). Now, I want to restore it to original state but cant remember how it was connected.

I've never owned an A2000 - so what I'm about to say may be b*ll*x....
 
..... if the 3.5 floppy is an Amiga floppy and the A2000 supports two internal drives, then the drives should work as you've jumpered them.
 
But - afaik - the floppy cable doesn't have twist in it. If yours has the twist, then it's probably off an IBM based system.
 
Also, the A2000 may have an onboard jumper that enables support for the DF1: as an internal drive as opposed to having an external DF1: connected to the disk drive port.
