What player is this?
« on: August 02, 2010, 01:09:26 PM »
I know the track is from Wolfchild, but what is running the music and the visualization in this YT clip?  Amiga-based?

Thanks.

The only info I can find about it is, it seems to have been uploaded to YT from this site...

http://www.gamegas.com/Videos-28280.html

perhaps a bit more digging around on that site may lead you to just what he used for this vid.

Even VLC will play MOD files these days so it could be almost any machine on any OS.

I know it! :)

The visualisation is called Spec'n'Hopp, was originally for an old player called Sonique. You can get the vis plugin for XMPlay and Winamp according to these pages:

http://support.xmplay.com/file_comment.php?id=187

Have fun.

There's some more by the same author/group:

(I'll also add that for module listening under Windows, use XMPlay. Just don't even f**king bother using Winamp for MOD playback, its "replayer" is a festering turd of bad quality and poor accuracy. XMPlay's playback routines for PT/XM/IT/S3M modules are excellent, and if you use the Delix plugin, you basically have Delitracker/Eagleplayer and all its replayers emulated in a virtual 68k environment courtesy of UADE - Amiga module playback on PCs doesn't get much better than that.)
