SID2SID Build
« on: July 19, 2010, 05:48:48 PM »
I posted some pics in my blog from building a SID2SID board from 8 Bit Ventures. My nutshell advice is to use low temp solder and iron (20W) cause this thing will disintegrate with too much heat.

Other than that, it had good instruction (PDF) and was pretty easy to build. I got all the need parts from DIGIKey. Still need to test the 2nd SID...

yes my first SID2SID melted some, and radio shack gave me the wrong thingy and I had to redo a section.

It worked finally but I had to repair the board itself with bits of wire and it sucked a fat one.

Whatre you going to test yours out with? Prophet64?
I am a negative, rude, prick.

Hi Arkhan,

I should get to testing the 2nd sid this weekend. I'm using MSSIAH to do that. I have been to the 8 bit venture forums, seems like we are not alone about the board being delicate. Cross your fingers for me, I'm going to hook up the audio out and check it out tomorrow night I think.
