Can you use an A500/2000 external floppy on a 1200?

Just wondering.. are there any differences as far as external floppy drives goes?

They're the same.

Commodore badged drives eat more power and that's the most important difference between them and the 3rd party stuff. That can be a problem for a stock A1200 power supply if you have lots of other goodies under the hood.
