Are 2000 and 500 floppy drives the same?  Except for the beige plastic cover I mean.

A500 lacks the bezel and LED. Nothing more, nothing less.

To clarify a bit, the metal sheath around the drive mechanism has a tiny difference too. There's a slot cut out of it for the A500 and A3000.

I'm sure there was different drives for the 500 though?.. Some where Epson, others Panansonic and some of mine are unbranded.
