The slim Laptop IDE CDRom is ONLY 5v, and does not need 12v

You have both 5V and 12V available on the floppy header - I have a CD-ROM installed in my console case A1200 and that's where I took it from. It too only needed 5V - you just need to make sure you splice the correct wire...

+1 I also have installed internal slimine CD/DVD drives in the Amiga and used the floppy drive cable for power. I stripped back some of the plastic from the correct wires (+ & - 5v) and wrapped and soldered the CD drive wires to it then taped up the exposed wire with insulating tape.

A lighter works extremely well for stripping back wire in case you don't want to accidentally 'splice and dice' the cable  :)

If you check here you can get the pinouts. The Amiga drives are slightly different but the electrical connections are the same. there will probably be Amiga specific floppy power diagrams online to corroborate but I couldn't be bothered looking that hard!
