A1200 with 1TB SATA Hard Disk
« on: July 11, 2009, 12:45:42 AM »
As the cost of a 1TB hard disk is low now, I ditched my 3x smaller IDE hard disks and replaced them with a single SATA 1TB drive.

I had a problem with HDToolbox on 3.9 so I had to initially prep the drive with HDInstTools and then go back to HDToolbox to install SmartFileSystem 1.279:

The System partition was kept within the first 2GB of the drive and formatted with SFS\01

The other partitions were formatted with SFS\02

I've been looking at doing this on my A4000 as well. What IDE to SATA adapter are you using?

We are putting together SATA adapter pack for FastATA - we have already added it as an option to the FastATA products on our webstore.

Ah crap, must of missed it when I ordered one a couple of weeks ago. Guess I'll wait for the stand alone pack.

@amigakit

remember to create your SFS partitions smaller than 128GB or you'll run into problems

Hi,

I have a SATA to IDE adapter working, but only works as a slave.
Now I'm using tools/mounter available in os3.9. This program mounts all my partitions in the SATA Disk.

Is there any way to mount the disk without having to run mounter manually?

----

I'm answering me...
solution:
add mounter u=1  in user-startup
