Does anyone want to donate an A1200 accelerator?
« on: February 27, 2010, 08:04:53 AM »
Basicly the story is that to fund my A4000T i sold off my A1200's Blizzard 1230IV. I don't regret the A4000T but i do regret selling the Blizzard as i now feel sorry for my A1200 sitting there with a 2Gb HD with OS3.9 installed and fully setup and its unuseable.

Does anyone want to donate an accelerator to me for free?

I will pay postage.

I know its a cheeky request but i will pay postage :P

Or at least an accelerator for cheap?

I admire your optimism, but I doubt people will feel very sorry for you with that A4000T :D

I'll swap the 4000T for my Blizzard 1230 IV? ;)

Good luck!

LOL! I'd beat that with my Mk IV 030 with SCSI interface for an A4kT, ANYDAY!

It would be great to be in a world where people give this sort of stuff away but im afraid to say, your living in a dream land.

Only possible way I can think of is finding someone who has one of these accelerator cards who also uses £50 notes as cigar lighters.

However you could try putting in a wanted ad in your local papers (if you got a private ads paper wherever you live then that's the best option). Don't expect to get calls from people who will just 'give' them away so personally i'd state you would pay cash for them (you can still get real bargains).
That's how I got my 1200T and loads of other goodies.

You could always try asking on Freecycle etc. A guy on my local Freecycle group ended up with several A500s & A600s for free on there. Unfortunately, I joined just afterwards wanting the same thing, so I went empty handed :(

Yes and maybe someone could donate/sell a 1260 to me rather than leave it collecting dust in one of their 'spare' Amiga's....at least I will use the thing ;)

You would be surprised, I know of somewhere you can advertise for free.. and the occasional Amiga pops up from time to time.

I missed out on an A500, A590 with monitor and STACKS of games (Someone beat me to it), but I have personally gained an A500 and A1000 from it, for FREE.

But on the flip side, some TOSSPOT then goes and posts on the same place, that his A4000 has died due to Battery Acid (Moron actions there) and asks if anyone is giving away an A4000 to replace it.

Had a good laugh about that one.
