How do I get RTG on WinUAE?
« on: February 16, 2010, 11:30:49 AM »
Hi how do I get RTG working on WinUAE or isn't this possible? I've downloaded and installed the Picasso 96 drivers, however I read somewhere that WinUAE uses DirectX.

WinUAE has its own picasso drivers built in.  You just need to in the option F12, select rtg screen and then select the memory for the rtg.

Then in screenmode prefs on the amiga set a uae picasso mode

Its a bit confusing actually, in winuae setup, you have to go to memory, (Not display) then push the RTG graphics card settings ram slider over to the right.

I have mine set to 64 megs since thats whats actually in my video card.

Is it actually necessary to install P96 on the Amiga side, or does WinUAE handle everything for you?

Hmm, I'll have to try that out. When I installed it I actually installed the OS3.9 version of P96 and chose the UAEgfx options.

That might be it then.   ITs probably evertime I have used winuae I have used my 3.9 cd or amiga forever and of course they have p96 installed.

If using 3.1 you prob have to installp96.  UAEgfx is just the graphics card so to speak

Well it's on the CD, but not installed by default AFAIK. Perhaps you don't need it after all

You do need it. WinUAE only emulates the hardware. You still need a software driver to use it.

You need all files you need for a amiga P96 install. So you need install P96.

Then you should copy the rtg.library from the winuae folder over the old library.
if you do this not, then you get also a warning requester.winuae work with old too, but its very slow then
