Blizzard 1260
« on: January 17, 2010, 12:38:11 AM »
Just picked up a Blizzard 1260 and Blizzard 1260 SCSI IV adapter and was wondering what the maximum amount of ram you can have installed on both. The manual specifies 64 Megs on the the accelerator card and and 128 Megs on the SCSI adapter for a total of 192 Megs.

One the Big Book of Amiga Hardware site they specify 128 Megs on both for a total of 256 Megs.

Anyone know if there is any truth to the 256 Meg information?

Also I was wondering if it was safe to use EDO memory? I expect no benefit form the EDO but wanted to make sure its compatible.

Last question is anyone know of specific models of memory that are known to be thin enough to be used on the 1260 and SCSI IV and a reputable vendor to buy from?

128MB on each, and EDO will probably work - I ran a 64MB EDO SIMM on mine with no issues.

Personally I've had great luck buying old SIMMs on ebay, often you get lucky and find NOS parts for next to nothing.

Haven't booted my A1200 060 Tower up for a few years though
