Fightin' Spirit CD32 problem with Illegal Warrior
« on: December 12, 2009, 03:48:32 PM »
I bought this game from Vesalia. The problem is when the Illegal warrior appears the game stops loading the level from CD. On the internet I downloaded a version and this one also have this problem.

I tested on two CD32 and on the A1200 with a Plextor 40 speed CD-ROM. I found a workaround by using the cheat to turn it to Super Fightin' Spirit.

Is there any updated version for this problem?

This is well known bug. Emulated CD32 (even on A1200) solves the problem. The other solution is the one you have already figured out. Unfortunately, there is no update to fix this problem.

Years ago I bought a CD with the ECS, AGA and CD32 version on it, but the CD32 version on that doesn't work. I made a CD32 bootable version with the AGA HD Install. This one works well.

It's pity that the bug hasn't solved. It's a great game to play on the CD32. I also played ECS and AGA version as well.

The nice thing about the ECS version is, you could choose CD32 joypad option to play with it.

Fightin' Spirit, apart from that bug with Shiro, is an example of how to do an Amiga game right! Having 1-button, 2-button and CD32 control options, it uses Extra Half-bright mode yet it's in PAL overscan and runs quick on any Amiga, and the CD32 version features better digital music. Both the CD and floppy versions have lyrics and real electric guitar music in the intro, too.

What's not perfect about this game? It's on my Amiga Top 10 for sure.

Unfortunately the only ways I know around the bug have been mentioned already. Start the game in Super Fightin' Spirit mode, or install it with WHDLoad and burn it back to CD.
