DVD-ROM and amiga 1200

Hi
I got a fast question for you guys. I have ordered a EZ Z4 tower from amigakit and just to prepare myself i wonder if it is a problem to use a dvd-rom as a cd-rom for my towered amiga.
Pegasos2 G4 1Ghz, 1GB ram, Radeon 9200 256mb

shouldnt be a problem.. I used a dvd-rom on my a4000 instead of the cdrom.

Worked fine

Nope, no problem at all ... I use a DVD-ROM drive in my setup on a daily basis.

Yes, you can use it AS CD-Rom, BUT, if you want to be able to use it as DVD-Rom (i mean, access to DVDs) AFAIK you need a proper driver/filesystem to handle it. I think the only one is ALLEGRO CDFS (bundled with Idefix or Eide99 buffered interface made by Elbox and others)

Isnt IDE-Fix bundled with CacheCDFS?

I have a dual layer SATA DVD+RW drive on my A4000 on the internal IDE bus (using a 99p-on-eBay SATA->IDE converter) and it works fine. I think even in OS3.9 it worked without any problems. You should have no problems on an A1200 then, I should think.
