I switched to the Blizzard cus the Apollo 60 I had did conflict with the PCMCIA slot. The Squirrel only worked with the Blizzard. You can always get the SCSI KIT for the Blizzard for external drives, which is what I do. You can then use the PCMCIA for network and broadband... which is also what I do.

On that power issue, always try and get an A500 brick when you start to load up the 1200. I learnt this the painful way when I tried to use a 3.5" hd in a 1200. I sent it back to the shop, then found I could have resolved matters with more power. All my 1200s have the brick as opposed to the original power supply.

There is a picture of one of my bricks on my website:

I like the improvisation of your workstation, especially the creative use of house bricks.

Looks nice and snug. With minimum amount of swivel from your chair you're in front of another computer, genius.

The basic rule of thumb is that anything with its own processor won't conflict.

Don't know where you got that rule from, it's not true. There's quite a few that do take the pcmcia address space and the best place to check is on bboah.
Restraining orders are just another way of saying I love you!

Thats just the workshop.. You should see this room and my actual Amiga room. And they are all built around rotating on one chair. I do enjoy my computing.

Q: "What is the exact name of this Commodore floppy drive ? "

A: An Amiga Sidecar. Allowed the Amiga to run IBM PC programs at full speed, the Sidecar was an 8086 computer inside this enclosure with a 5.25” disk drive.

Hope that helps.

Isn't it called the A1060? Or is my memory trying to trick me again?

Here is the answer to two more of your questions on your website

Yes, the scandoubler is connected correctly.

The longer cable connected to the harddrive on one of the GVP controllers are just a power cable; it makes no differnce what you do, as long as you connect a plug to the harddrives power plug.

Both SCSI cards supply power from the boards power connecter, so no reason to have the longer cable attached at all (unless you want to power the drive from the PSU though)

The one I use delivers 4.5A of 5V and was made in India, it is a "light" supply. Besides, what has this to do with the question?

Made in India huh?

Simple rule for PCMCIA compatibility: if the 030 card accepts more than 8Mb it is PCMCIA compatible. IIRC, all 040 and 060 expansions are PCMCIA-friendly.

And all 020 and plain memory expansions are not friendly.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

Fast Show:

"Your A500 power supply, is it faithfull to your Amy Sir. I can picture it now Sir as you take your A500 out and plug it into some yellowed PSU, insert that little bit of rough into your Amy. Show that Amy some authority Sir... ohh Suit You Sir."
