Interesting reading on clickBOOM!
« on: August 18, 2009, 09:05:04 PM »
For some reason I ended up looking up some things on clickBOOM and ended up stumbling across some information from a UK company who had transfered them money for stock only to not receive it. I then found the following which was a real surprise. I guess a few of the games on the Amiga in the final years may have been produced like this. Interesting reading.

Amiga 4000, Warp Engine 040/40MHz, CV643D with scan doubler module, Tocatta soundcard, Deneb, 72Meg fast ram, 18 gig scsi hard drive.

Yes, old story, I remember when it was "hot news". Typical example of the "eastplotation" that was going on at the time (and sadly still goes on in some areas)

Whow.. brings back memories. I remember reading about it first on BBS's, and some diskmags had articles about it too. But they sure made good looking games.

Didn't one of their independent developers hide a whole text file on clickBOOM's shady dealings in one of the game disks?

Yup, it was mentioned in the linked story. Either on the Myst CD or the Capital Punishment disks.

The message was hidden in Myst. I'd be interested to see it...but I don't have Myst and it's not my kind of game to be honest.

Pitty some of these guys weren't still developing on the Amiga.
