GVP SCSI card ROM upgrade DOA?

Hi guys,

So I bought a ROM upgrade for my GVP A4000 HC+8 REV. II board - my board had ROM version 4.13 installed, and I picked up a version 4.15 ROM on eBay.  I just swapped the ROM chips on the board, but now my A2000 won't boot from the internal drive.  If I boot while holding down both mouse buttons, and go to the "Boot Options" menu, it doesn't list my internal HDD, just the floppy drive.  The "Expansion Board Diagnostic..." option says that my SCSI board is working correctly.

Is there something else I should be doing to make this work?  I was under the impression that this would be a simple plug-n-play swap.

Update:

Never mind my above question!  It turns out that the label on the new ROM upgrade was applied upside-down, which threw me off enough to install the chip upside-down.  Rotating it and reinstalling it has solved the issue I was having.

For anyone else attempting this upgrade:  you want to make sure that the "notch" or "divot" in the ROM chip is aimed at the RAM slots!  In my case the label covered both ends of the chip, so I had to look very closely to determine the correct orientation.

PS  Anyone need a GVP 4.13 ROM chip?  ;-)

BTW, the notch is clearly marked on the pcb or the socket.  plugging the rom (any) the wrong way, you risk damaging the rom.
