I'm gonna be getting a Samantha flex soon but would like to know the main differences between the ep & flex versions of Sam :-)

The Flex has PCI slots and the ability to hold 1 Gig of Ram. The EP has on board video (which the Flex does not) and maxes out at 512 megs of Ram. I'm pretty sure the EP is a slightly smaller form factor than the Flex.

In my opinion you will be pleased with either.

You can also get the Flex at slightly higher clock speed.
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

Nice Ports on AmiNet!

Compare the non-flex with the flex at AmigaKit.

Basically the flex is a slightly larger board with a couple of extra PCI slots but no onboard graphcs and a slightly higher clock rate. If you can cope with the slightly larger size (and higher price) it might be better as you can get a higher spec graphics card with more memory etc

thanks for the reponses guys!..ya I'm gonna go for the flex ..can upgrade video card, more memory and pci slots sells it for me :-)
now i'm not sure about going for the overclocked 733 mhz version?? over all durability etc. I liken it to adding a supercharger to your little 4 cylinder engine..surew she goes faster but after a while that bugger gives you alot of headaches !

My Sam Flex is 800mhz. I was just curious is it possible to have one go even higher?
