Not asking questions today, you will all be relieved to hear

I spotted this great documentary that you may like to see (if you haven't already of course).  It's described as follows - "For fans of the Commodore Amiga, the introduction of the new Amiga 3000 was big news, even though the price tag was nearly $4,000. This program looked at the new Amiga computer and new third party appplications. Demonstrations include the Amiga 3000, the Amiga 2500, the AmigaVision authoring system, The Animation Studio, and the Video Toaster from NewTek. Also includes a visit to FAUG, the First Amiga Users Group, in Palo Alto. Guests include Paul Montgomery, Tim Jenison, Lou Wallace, and Hedley Davis. Originally broadcast in 1990"

I read in an ancient Amiga Format magazine at the opening of the A3000 they showed an impressive 3D demo featuring an oil rig I believe - anybody seen this demo?

hehe - yes it is.  I know, because I still have one, along with my Juno 6 and my Roland D10

I love my old synth's but my favourite just now is my relatively new Korg X50 as it's a real throwback to the old days

Strange (or maybe not so, since I'm saying this on an Amiga forum =P) as it may seem, I was more interested by the software being demonstrated for the A3000 here (back in 1990, before I was born!) than I am by software today. The Amiga could do things that I've never seen done before on a modern PC! (Well, I'm sure it's more than possible, but the fact that they could be done 19 years ago is just amazing).

Also, lol at the PC notebooks. 386 notebook for $3000! Upgrade hard drive to 40MB for $500 extra!

Hehe Hayashi, I was 19 in 1990 and I remember the Amiga amazing me and got me right into computer animation (for a hobby - I never did anything commercial with my Amiga other than some advertising videos that looped in a friends electorincs shop).  When I watched this clip, it just reminded me why the Amiga is so amazing, especially the guy showing of the Disney animation studio and the folk from Newtek showing off the Video Toaster.  It's not hard to imagine why a bunch of Amiga's were used for the first series of Babylon 5
