DVDR tools questions.
« on: October 28, 2003, 11:14:52 PM »
Hello amigans,

just wondering...  I want to buy a scsi dvdrom drive to be able to read some dvd backups on my amiga that I made on a friend's PC but then I did a search on the prices of dvdr drives and it turns out that I can get a Pioneer DVRA06 drive (the OEM version actually) for US$34 more than I'd have to pay for a simple scsi dvd drive. So, I'd rather get a dvdr drive now that this linux software called dvdrtools has been ported to amiga. So, I have some questions regarding this:

1. Has anyone used these programs? Do they really work?
2. What cdrom filesystem(s) support DVD drives so I can read my dvdr media on the amiga?
3. Does anyone have this Pioneer drive (A06) on an amiga? Does it work with dvdrtools?
4. Is a 060 based amiga (a1200) using a powerflyer interface in pio4 mode able to send data from a harddrive connected to the same powerflyer fast enough to burn  DVDs at max speed?

Thanks in advance for your answers,

cheers
