As Flashlab said, it's no problem. You can make shorter cables if you wish, and make sure the contacts on the "snapped" areas aren't touching.
Also... FWIW, I'm pretty sure this bit of info (from bboah?) is wrong:
when fitting into an A2000 the flicker fixer must be removed by breaking the card - requires the Denise adapter to avoid this
According to what I've read here (from MastaTabs) and some old usenet postings, the PIV must be snapped even with the Denise adapter.
