My Amiga 1200 For Sale
« on: October 27, 2003, 04:36:10 AM »
It was a tough descision. But I'm selling most of my Amiga stuff. I figure I can still be an active Amiga hobbiest. And, hopefully this will help finance an Amiga One!

Amiga 1200 with lots and lots of goddies!!

Bad time to sell with Xmas coming up, otherwise I'd take a crack at it
Have you hugged your KennyR or Paul Gadd today?

To GreggBz:

Do you have any Amiga 2000 stuff for sale?  I too am selling one of those toy Amiga 1200s.  I was looking at my Amiga 1200 the other night and thought to myself "This is a low quality piece of crap!  Why is this Amiga so popular in Europe?  The Amiga 2000, 3000 and 4000 blows the doors off this all-in-one, plastic cased piece of crap."  Then I looked at my vintage Amiga 2500 and sat there admiring its beauty and its high quality construction.  Anyway, if you have any Amiga 2000 stuff that you want to sell, please let me know.  I am also looking for an Amiga 4000 Tower, the last of the real Amiga computers.  I personally will NOT buy an Amiga One, it SUCKS !!!!

Hmm.. No Amiga 2000 stuff for sale.
Yes, the Amiga 1200's case is rather fragile from a user hacker upgrading happy person such as myself.
Big Box Amiga's are much more robust.
I personally think the A 3000 tower was the best Amiga. For it's time anyway. By the time the 4000 came out it was already showing some age.
Could be worse though. Anyone remeber Apple III's?
I remember having a Columbia XT Clone computer.. It's case was so badly engineerierd that the memory on the motherboard fell out, and shorted to +12V lead during a pivital moment in a game of Starflight!!!!
Look at PS2's in their first year. Lot's of bugs there..
Amiga's were pretty well designed considering.

@ redrumloa

I can tell from your avatar that you need/should get yourself a robust A2000HD Professional Computer. Those A1200 toys are very fragile, in case you try to launch them, kick 'em, burn, smash with a sledge hammer, crash, etc... The A2000HD is damage-proof/resistant to ordinary home use (DISCLAIMER: Please, don't try this at home!). :-D :-D :-D

@DoomMaster

I hereby challenge all of your A2000 / A2500 Professional Computers to take on my single A1200T in a trial of might. No rules, the last computer running wins. All at once or one at a time, i makes no difference as the result is inevitable. Your OBSOLETE machines WILL be playing harps in silicon heaven whilst my tower stands victorious atop the smoking scrap metal remains of your A2000's.

I am certian that my ruggedly-constructed fullsize reinforced steel case, which weighs no less than 15 kg (thats about 33 lbs to you) when empty, with it's 350W PSU, shock-absorbant motherboard mounting, fully fanned, ultra reliable SMD based A1200 motherboard, BlizzardPPC (with SCSI) and BVision will UTTERLY CRUSH any of your A2000 machines in ANY trial of physical endurance.

Proof of that -  it has already survived a car crash that I almost didnt :-o

It will blow not only the doors, but the everything else off of any of your your UTTERLY INFERIOR A2000's in ANY computational/data processing tests you can devise. The ONLY thing your FEEBLE A2500 has a hope of doing as quickly or efficiently as my A1200T is reading a standard 880K floppy disk.

The ONLY thing ANY of your worthless A2000HD's can probably do better than my A1200T is gather dust and make unwanted noise.

The gauntlet has been dropped. Are your machines up to the challenge?

Fellow Amigans........Please............we have very few Amiga users on this Planet.........lets not make it even less by separating into groups of:  Amiga2000 Professional User Group and, Amiga1200T PPC, A600, A3000 user Group..........etc..............

Arent All Amigas mostly compatible with each other,
well I thought so were Amigans.

Choose wich Amiga you like best and buy it.........it is all of good use to all of us because we can have someone else test an Amiga that we ourselves don't have.
Amiga 2000's has its good sides
Amiga 3000's have their good sides
Amiga 4000's ahve their good sides
And YES!  Amiga 600's have their good sides!  super portable and good for presentations, showing off demos..............plugging into a car as a game machine and MP3 player (with the MASPlayer) I turned one into an arcade machine once!

go to this website to see a SUPER hooked up A600!

http://www.amiga600.de/

Cool right!
CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...
