Lunapaint v0.3.1 is out
« on: February 01, 2007, 08:31:32 AM »
I released the latest version of Lunapaint yesterday, with a number of new features. This is a major release in many ways and is the last release without sources. Next version will be released under an open source license.

Some of the changes are:
 * Full layer control with opacity/visibility/naming
 * Speedier blending with optimalizations
 * No more crashing on loading invalid project files
 * Text tool (only linux hosted at the moment)
 * DPaint like keyboard shortcuts

More to come! Check out the site at:

And the download is at

 * http://archives.aros-exec.org

Have fun!  ;-)

Thanks :-) Good to hear some enthusiasm! It motivates. Anyway, when the source comes out it will be possible (if somebody lends a hand with the porting on their hw) to run this on MorphOS and AmigaOS3/4 as well. I think this is what most people have been wanting anyhow.

But for me I will focus on the AROS code for the most part. Hopefully MUI doesn't deviate too much from Zune (or vica versa).

Didn't work on os4 yet,
DPaint "like" things. Wow. DPaint "like" native?
How much would it cost? I would kill for a Dpaint like but offcourse todays app today...

Nice to see You're working on like it maybe, can't test sorry,can't get AROS in A1XE or could I? You know things can go the otherway too;)

Join all forces please but is it possible? My new years promise was that I'll buy good Amiga programs... Hope to hear from good news soon. Have a nice weekend.

Lunapaint is quite possibly one of the most exciting Amiga apps in development today. Go go go!

Lunapaint will be a nice mix between TVPaint and DPaint on Amiga and something extra - modern features but without the bloat. I'm a graphician myself, so I'm working constantly with improving the GUI so it doesn't get in my way.

The next release I'm making is gonna be open source, so after that, people will be able to sign up to the sourceforge site and join in to port it to OS4 and OS3.9 or MorphOS.

The app is gonna be all free - it is important to have such a tool on the Amiga platform so that we can get more demos and games and art all in all! Amiga was a lot about art, so.

Amiga is now a platform like Unix. On Unix, you have Linux, BSD and Solaris etc. On Amiga, you have MorphOS, AmigaOS and AROS. We can coexist and should share our developments to guarantee a future for this way of thinking. Apps like Lunapaint is gonna give the odds some boost I hope.

@m0ns00n

It's great that you opened your project on the other Amiga like platform :-)

Looking forward to try LunaPaint on AmigaOS 3.x/4.x :-)
