@Matt_H

I would also like to know if you have a Catweasel in your system. If you do, remove it and see if it gets better.

These are interesting times we live in. New machines in progress, new AmigaOS in progress.. userbase slowly, slowly growing..  which is a success in itself.

@amiga2000
The prerelease it out since time :-) It was free for EarlyBirds. Now if you buy an A1 (any also a Micro) you get OS4 prerelease until the final release.

@Matt_H
OS4 is rocks solid, sometimes i don't reboot my A1 for days :-) So if you have stability issue it is a vcore or installation problem. have you got the first update installed? Check Intuition base or AW.net (it is the official AmigaOne webportal) to find many threads about vcore. I have a 1,74 for my 1000Mhz G4.

@all
Enjoy the update! :-D

@MattH

Where did you get the (AFAIK incorrect) information that your CPU is meant to run at 1.64?

DO NOT raise it, because it is not meant to run at 1.64, it's meant to run at 1.6V, so 1.59V is fine.

Your CPU fan is probably inadequate though (I bet you have the "Sunon" cooler).

Regards.

It was the Catweasel! I don't believe it! The system has been very stable ever since I took it out. Some programs still crash, but the random lockups are gone.

I'll have the dealer check out the cooler and VCORE. Hopefuily that will solve the few remaining problems.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Argh, that problem again...

Luckily, we found the reason (a bug in Exec, I have to admit :-( ), and we're currently testing that.

We'll probably offer yet another update that will fix that in the course of January.

Unfortunately not... I haven't been able to find it, since the bug is really hard to reproduce here... Sometimes, it happens after a minute, sometimes it happens after an hour...

There are two main partitions on my AmigaOne G4-XE system - Workbench and Programs.  Also have two small ones for browser caches and swap space (not yet in use of course).  I downloaded and installed this update last night.  At the end of it, the installer asks you if you want to reboot now or later.  Well, I selected now, which it did immediately.  However, it's apparently not a clean reboot because it invalidated my Programs partition.  My system refused to completely boot up after that.  I had to boot up with my Dev-PR Update #1 CD in order to get it to validate the partition.  Then I was able to boot up normally again.
