Gen Con site's Boing Ball

Gen Con, which will be hosted this summer in Indianapolis, has a Boing Ball at its home page.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it's intended to be a Boing Ball. If you look at the larger version, you can see the pattern doesn't look like the surface of a sphere, but instead a waving flag. I think the design is intended to bring to mind the checkered flag associated with the Indianapolis 500. They just made it red and white instead of black and white and put it in a circle to match the other locations' logos.

That said, Amiga, Inc. could have grounds for IP infringement (albeit unintentional), maybe, because the logo is so close to theirs and the context is computer games.

Japaneese! Wow! How is it with the Amiga name in Japan?

I think probably about the same as in Europe and the US (except on a smaller scale). There used to be several specialized Amiga shops in the Akihabara district of Tokyo (where all the electronic shops are). But these days, nothing. There are still users groups, but nothing much commercial. Users' web sites talk about the Pegasos and AmigaOne, though, so some people are keeping up with developments. There's a pretty active alt OS population here, so I expect things will take off more once the new products are available.

gary how is the swing there in Japan? are more holding out for AOS4 or more going for Pegasos/MorphOS?

I'm not really in touch with any other users here personally, these days. I had friends into BeOS when it was hot, but not much since then. From what I see on the web, both AmigaOne and Pegasos developments are being followed. I would guess AmigaOne has an edge due to name recognition, tradition and all that. But I also understand there have been inquiries from Japan about Pegasos boards, so maybe things are about even at this point.
