Then, of course, there's the fact that the site says it has a no-flaming policy but anti-MorphOS flamebait seems to be perfectly OK.

how do you know if you never go there ?

Please, don't get ideas about a site purely because of the actions of one person.

I beg to differ. When that person is an administrator with apparently unlimited power and totally free hand to take whatever action he feels like taking, and no visible charter to guide his behaviour, I reserve the right to judge the entire site by his own standards.

When? I've seen at least thread along the lines of "Anyone want to move to MorphOS?"

Well, let me refresh your memory. The thread was actually called: " Is anybody thinking about joining the Rebellion?". Slightly darker undercurrent in that title, don't you think?

That thread contained a comment from which I quote:

"nope... don't support piracy by getting a pegasos/MorphOS."

Amazingly, the admins/moderators made absolutely no comment to this post. However, when a user - Seehund - rightly protested that this was going too far, his post got removed. When he demanded an explanation, he was banned.

Who was responsible for this? Mike Bouma, by his own admission.

Check the thread for yourself here.

a while ago there was a poll to decide whether to add another forum for OSes like MorphOS and AROS. 32% said "Yes", so you cannot say that everyone there is an AmigaOS zealot.

Reading polls is misleading. Did 32% say "yes" because they wanted to discuss MOS or because they wanted any mention of it removed from the main forums?  You tell me.

Anyway, are you saying that we can have MorphOS only sites, but not AmigaOS only sites?

The MorphOS only sites make no bones about their focus. AmigaWorld.net does not admit to being an AmigaOS/Amiga Inc interest site only.

As that poll showed, it is only mainly Amiga (in the narrower sense) because most visitors wanted that

Is this most visitors before or after Bouma brought over his cronies?

The webmaster offered to add a section for MorphOS, so you cannot claim he's biased!

The webmaster appointed Bouma as admin, complete with Bouma's personal agenda and Bouma's - erm - reputation. 'nuff said.

'scuze me? Are you quoting me there, or someone else? You seem to be having a bit of a problem telling people apart. Is the red mist imparing your vision at all?

What about Carl Sassenrath's REBOL? Would that make a good AmigaOS scripting language, do you think?

mine was a simple question, i got the impression from everything you say that you dont frequent amigaworld, but are happy to bash what they do and the articles they display.

now reading your post after mine it shows you do look there (at least last week anyway) but you could have just said that, or did you just want to insult me again?

if i was a petty person i would go and read what the posting rules actually are here...

I've read that thread... so what!? I've read a balanced thread, with good arguments, no bash fighting… about the topic, it was made from a user, surely made to catch some more viewers, so both MOS users and AmigaOS users could vocalize …

I've seen pretty many worst threads on ann by MorphOS users...

Why should they!? Maybe you should think they should have deleted it!? They don't have to pop him every time, and everyone has his right to say if he agrees or not and why! This kind of paternalism was usual on ann but thanks god it isn’t on AW… (and no deleted comments)

I don’t know why he has the right to bragg against the moderators, but I bet it isn’t by saying “Webmeisters, how about introducing a "no trolling" policy in addition to the "no flaming" one? :-P”  that you can state he has “rightly protested

Please!! Don't start to get too much paranoiac about your mental link between AW and Ainc, 1st that's not a banner, 2nd what's wrong about using Amiga Logo!? It's a bad thing these days!?

I've read his article about Pegasos and I find it not much biased, as most of his posts, he only says: "I've seen it but still rather prefer AmigaONE" that is what annoys most MorphOS fans/users/whatever, these users think that he can't think no different, Pegasos the ultimate grail and so...
