Great, but they won't make the drivers for the Amiga nor will they release the information for other people to make up the drivers

 :-(

Every piece of new HW, will push the "experience" a bit further, as was the case with the first amiga.
Or what ever -name-the-hw-your-self- thingy..

AmigaONE has only 2xAGP......

This card will not run at its max speed on Amiga... :-(

Doesn't really matter - ATI are now in a state of playing leap-frog with Nvidia, so we'll see cards from ATI that do similar things soon.  In any case, AGPx8 cards won't work at all on AGPx2 motherboards (different voltages), and Nvidia aren't developing Amiga drivers either (or letting anyone else).

Hmmm - here's a thought.  There won't be any drivers for the Amiga, *but* there are drivers for the Mac.  All we need is for some clever haX0r to write a compatibility layer and we can use Mac Nvidia drivers...

Wouldn't it be better to support an equivalent ATI card when it comes?

Misconception.  They will work but only at 2X mode.  Check the following link and read down a little (not in the comparison box)

@Herewegoagain:

I stand corrected.

Wow, they bundle a whole bunch of stuff with that card.

Actually, nVidia just leap-frogged ATI.  :-)  The Radeon 9700 Pro was considered the best card out there, but it now seems the nVidia FX might top it.  Haven't seen any benchmarks yet but I have a strong feeling that ATI will be left in the dust.

But that's okay, even if they did make drivers for the AmigaOne, would any software take full advantage of it?  Probably not.  We just gotta get the ball rolling and not worry too much about the ultra-high end.  Those cards cost over $500 anyway, so they won't become common until a year or so later.

Yes, it sure does seem this way. But we'll never know until the GeforceFX is released in February,  March or some even say April next year. Not that it matter since we wont have any AmigaOS driver for these cards.
