This snippet was just published on Yahoo News.

It would appear that Microsoft may have been engaging in creative accounting, of the form known as 'profit-smoothing'...

They were also sued recently by the french authorities for using unlicenced code from a french company.

After all this they expect people not to pirate their software :-o
