Kick Off 2002 – The Legend is back?
« on: April 20, 2002, 11:14:23 PM »
Amiga Flame writes: "Virtual Programming announced just a few weeks ago that they are working on a Mac conversion of Anco's Kickoff 2002. Although VP intends to publish an Intent/ Amiga DE version of Payback, no such version is in the works for Kick Off 2002. The reason why I want to show you Kick Off 2002 is due to the fact that I would like gamers to check it out, and if you would like Virtual Programming to consider an Intent/ Amiga DE, then drop them an e-mail."

why not licence Kickoff 2002 for PS2/Gamecube/xbox and earn some real money...?
Why is most new stuff we've seen lately for AmigaAnywhere and Amiga is ...uh...GAMES ??
I don't play much games anymore, and if I do.. its on one of the consoles
i mentioned....witch are *made* purely for gaming.. :)

I think it would be a good move to get this playing on the DE. I wouldnt buy it, but there would be instantly millions of potential customers. Most of them would be windows users and prolly non would buy it :) but the linux crews might want to.

Would games be desitributed with the DE runing on the CD? Or would the games require the DE to be installed on the CD?

That brings up another question, when/if games have the runtime environment running from the CD, will it have multiple environments? That is, so you can play that CD in multiple systems (windows, linux, qnx)?

That would be one great thing about the DE and i believe it is being done like this with the AA PDA stuff, so i guess i dont see a reason why it wouldnt be done with AA PC stuff :} :) - coolies!

Kick Off 2 was great. But after Dino Dini left as designer the series were pure crap. I've never played Kick Off 2002, but I hope it's a return to form.

Yep,  I'd think it would be great to see their soccer game on AmigaDE.  Then I could play it on DE, Linux, Win32 or PocketPC.  Unlike other games where you are stuck on one platform.

Check out this Soccer game...

Slick and all, but no I can't play it on Linux, however if it was written in AmigaDE I could!   Ala, much bigger market (win32,pocketpc,Sharp Zaurus,Linux,...) and with DE's scaling feature it would allow games like this to work on a desktop easier.

Never was a huge Kick of fan, once Sensi came along.. i was sold.
I've yet to play a better footy game to this day, on any platform.

Yeah, Kick Off was cool, but Kick Off was the brainchild of Dino Dini, not of those bumpkins from Anco. Never trust a company which shoots itself in the foot - any Amigan should have learnt this lesson from a long time ago.
