MacroSystem Vlab card
« on: April 01, 2009, 05:21:57 PM »
Hi ,

I bought an Amiga A4000 and found this card inside :

MacroSystem Vlab Rev 1.0

I check out this :

http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=303

Looks like a video digitizer of some kind .

I have no interest in the card and was wondering how much it is worth as i couldnt find it on ebay so must be pretty rare .

Any one have an idea about it ?

I've seen V1.3 of the card go for £10-£15 unboxed and £25 boxed on ebay before. If memory serves me V1.3 is the Y/C version and has a few extra features over V1.

Did you get software or a manual with it?

If i can get 100 eur for it that would be amazing ... I would get back the money i paid for the Amiga 4000 itself :-)

100 EURO is an unrealistic price to get for the card; don't expect more than the £10 to £15 RMK35 mentioned.

But less than 100 EURO for an A4000 is a nice deal though :-)

Are you sure it is the VLAB-Motion card and not THIS card?

The earlier VLAB digitizer card is worth much less that the NLE (Non-Linear Editor) video card that the VLAB Motion is.  I think I remember that someone had written a driver to use the old VLAB digitizer card as a display device when coupled with a webcam, or something like that.

IIRC, the VLAB Motion card clearly has the text which includes the word Motion right on the card.  I am away from home and cannot check the silkscreen text on my VLAB Motion card.

I don't know what either of them is actually worth these days, but good luck selling it.  Sounds like you got a great deal on that A4000!
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

The words on the card look like the pic you posted .

I dont think it says Motion on it .

Yeah i think it was a great deal . I havent had enough time to check it out properly but here are the specs as far as i can see so far :

A4000/030
Kickstart 3.1 (Amiga Inc 2000)
1 Gb IDE HD WD
IDE Liteon CDROM Drive
Floppy Drive
16Mb Fastram + 2mb Chip ram
VGA Adapter (didnt try it yet)

When i try and run SYSINFO the screen messes up badly for some reason , so i cant tell the exact specs . But the system info thing of WB says it has an MMU or something .

Not bad for 100 Euro .

Hi,

If it 's a Vlab Motion card,cool..

They are great cards for video work, I still use one
often.

They a designed to work with the Toccata sound card
(if you want audio) and with the Movieshop software.

All outputs and inputs are analouge, but software lets
you output in digital form.

Easy to use to..

Not on the dollar side of the pond. Over here, Vlab -Motion- cards can still bring a couple hundred USD$. I'll take all the  10 Euro motion cards I can get!

I made my post based on the text, and not the link. The text says nothing about a VLab Motion, but the link is to a VLab motion.

If it's a VLab Motion, then most likely he can get 100 EURO for it, but the non Motion cards aren't worth near that much.
