Selling my SX-1 - Boxed with a few extras
« on: March 10, 2009, 02:13:14 AM »
Hey everybody, I just broke down and put up my SX-1 on Ebay with a few minor extras.

If anybody is interested, check it out;

Hey everybody, the SX-1 didn't end up selling.  Not sure if I was asking too much for it?

Anyways, I'm going to end up relisting it on Ebay, but I figured before I did, I would try offering it up here first.

I'm dropping the price 50 bucks down to 250.  If anybody is interested, either send a PM or email me at wmnii@hotmail.com.

Believe me, I would love to - but I barely have enough time to play the current games that come out, let alone my backlog of classic retro console games, LET ALONE the Amiga games.

I need an eighth day of the week or the ability to get by on like 3 hours of sleep a night.

Just my 2 cents,
I got mine "loose" on a french amiga site for 50 Euros a few years ago.
For +$200 you can get in touch with a SX32 on Epay.
Keep the Faith !

You would be lucky to get that price if you added the CD32 to the SX-1.  I seriously doubt that you will get even half what you are asking for it now.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

This is a neat and not very common device... but I agree, you're still asking too much. You might eventually get some desperate person to pay that but most likely not.

I'd make an offer of what I'd be willing to pay, but since I don't have any Amiga game consoles and have several "real" Amiga systems, I don't need this and it'd just make me have to go find a console to hook it to haha.

If you're really desperate, sell it for cheaper. Start bidding lower than you want (you could always do a reserve price too) and see what you get. Or put it on Buy It Now at a lower price you'd be happy with... or just keep it, some day you might be glad you did.

Time is what we make it.  If a different game or system has got your attention then so be it.  You don't need this and are willing to sell it because your just not in to it.  If I had a CD32 I might actully be down buying it but honestly I think most Amiga lovers have at the lest an A1200 if not a totally upgraded anything else.

I bet this would sell as a package.  People don't want to hunt down the next part.  In the day of instant gratification we want to play when we plug it in.

Yeah, I was afraid I was wanting too much for it.

A few years ago when I bought it, I got it, and the CD32 - both complete in box for 450 - and afterwards I was told I was crazy for paying that price, but I bought it on impulse because of how rare they are.

No way I could let it go for less than 200, so it looks like I might actually be hooking the damned thing up anyways, even if only to show it off to my gamer friends.  :P

You might get lucky on eBay and find a buyer for the price you want.  Another impulse buyer like yourself.  I think most of us have paid way too much for some piece of Amiga gear or software at one point or another in the past because we just had to have it.  I know that I have on more than one occasion.  So if you really want to sell it, try eBay, you might get lucky.  If not enjoy it as part of your collection.
